Hometown: I was born and raised in Fort St. John, BC, which is located on the lands of the Dane-zaa as part of Treaty 8.
Education: I graduated from Studio 58’s Theatre Arts program.
Why did you decide to become an actor?
I absolutely love performing in front of an audience whether it’s acting, singing, or dancing. And, honestly, it’s one of the few things I’m even a little bit good at so I figure I should fully commit to it.
What do you love about theatre?
Aside from the performing aspect, I love getting to know other artists and discovering what makes their artistic brains tick. It’s always so refreshing meeting someone like normal and then suddenly they’re belting an amazing tune in rehearsals. Or they have ideas about some crazy fantastical world they want to write about. There’s also something so wonderfully intimate about theatre, whether you’re watching or performing.
Plays/musicals you’ve been in?
I’m still a little new to the Vancouver scene, so a lot of the shows I’ve been in have all been part of my training at Studio 58. Some of the shows I’ve done there include Blood Wedding (as Leonardo), The Tempest (as Ferdinand), and A Chorus Line (as Mike) to name a few. Since graduating, I’ve been lucky enough to be apart of The Arts Club’s production of Guys & Dolls (as Ensemble) last summer. I’ve also just finished a run of Cinderella! A Traditional British Pantomime (as The Demon) with Metro Theatre. Currently, I’m in rehearsals for a new play written by another Studio 58 alum, Abi Padilla, called Grandma.Gangsta.Guerilla with Ruby Slippers.
Career goal?
Most of my experience lies in theatre, so I would love to dip my toes into film and tv as a short term goal. Long term, I’d be grateful if I could support myself with my art.
