Hometown: I was raised in Surrey BC, currently living in New Westminster.
Education and Training: My training is a little all over the place. I sang in the Surrey Children’s Choir and Surrey Community Chorus over the last 18 years. I did theatre all throughout high school (as a performer, costumer and assistant music director) and even ran the high school Glee Club in my senior year.
I attended Douglas College’s Theatre Diploma program from 2018-2020 (graduated during COVID, my last show in college being cut short due to lockdown)
What influenced you to pursue a career in theatre?
Singing is my number one passion! Being so heavily involved in choir as a kid, I had the opportunity to sing in many different languages and musical styles. I especially loved our year end concerts, where we’d sing musical theatre selections with costumes and choreography.
In 2015, I joined the school production of “Bye Bye Birdie” and instantly became hooked on live theatre, auditioning for every school play and musical (and even some community ones).
My mom took me to see “Wicked” at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in 2015, my first professional live theatre experience, and I left the theatre that day dreaming of playing Glinda, and fully knowing in my heart that musical theatre was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
What do you love about theatre?
Theatre, to me, is about challenging the status quo and being unashamedly yourself. Having the opportunity to be vulnerable on stage, to experience vast emotions in front of strangers and your fellow cast mates, it’s a form of human connection that’s incomparable and electrifying.
I’ve made so many friends through theatre, some of whom I’ve even gotten to travel the world with! There are so many stories to be told and heard in theatre, especially in the political climate today, and it’s so important to uplift and amplify voices that are being unheard.
Theatre has always been community, theatre has always been protest, and yet at the same time theatre will always be full of love.
Which plays and musicals were you in, and what were your roles?
- Grease (2017, Kwantlen Park Secondary) as Sandy Dumbrowski.
- Macbeth (2019, Douglas College) as Lady MacDuff, Donalbain, Wyrd Sister, Featured Singer.
- The Sound of Music (2023, Theatre in the Country) as Maria Von Trapp.
- The Rocky Horror Show (2023, Delta Players’ Theatre) as Magenta.
- Bound! The Musical in Concert (2024, Bound Musical Theatre Society & Metro Theatre) as Patricia.
- The Magic Flute Reimagined (North Shore Light Opera Society 2025) as Chorus, U/S Papagena
- HMS Pinafore (Fraser Valley Musical Theatre, 2025) as Little Buttercup.
No upcoming shows yet… but I’m eager to see what’s on the horizon!
If you hadn’t become a performer, what might have you pursued professionally?
When I’m not doing theatre, I work as an administrative assistant. I think in another life I would also be doing something equally as artsy, like running my own record or thrift store.
Career goals?
I fully intend on continuing to pursue musical theatre, hoping to knock a few more of my dream roles off of my bucket list (getting to play a princess in a musical is a huge goal!) I love singing classically (unashamedly a soprano), and would also jump at the chance to do more operas and operettas.
