Hometown: I have lived in Coquitlam my whole life.

Education and Training: I grew up dancing with PULSE Dance Center where I danced competitively for 16 years, training in ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, and acro. I started performing in musicals when I was 7 but started considering performing as a serious career in high school.

I took vocal lessons with Dana Cole-Luder and Angela Hendriks through most of high school and was heavily involved in the drama program at Terry Fox Secondary. My Summers were spent at Gotta Sing! Gotta Dance! and the Arts Club Musical Theatre Intensive, where I was really pushed as an artist. Currently, I am in my final semester of the Musical Theatre Program at Capilano University!

Why did you decide to become an actress?

I have always loved being on stage and performing. I remember being a young dancer, just itching for competition season to start so I could get back on stage. When the time came in high school to start thinking about what you wanted to do with your life, there wasn’t anything else that felt right for me.

Sure, going into nursing would’ve been fine. But nothing would’ve made me feel the same way that theatre did and still does. I am always at my happiest when in rehearsals or working on set and I can’t let that go.

What do you love about theatre?

The people you meet through theatre are truly the best people, too. I have made lifelong connections and friendships with some lovely people. People I can call on if I need advice, people who will read sides with me for a self tape, people who will come to dance class with me, people who will just get together to eat and drink while we talk about past shows, current shows, and what we hope comes next for us! It’s a wonderful community to be a part of.

Career Goals?

I would love to continue performing, of course. Whether that’s in Vancouver, or on a cruise ship, performing is where my heart is. The scene in Toronto has always been something that intrigues me. The theatre scene there is huge and I would love to get a taste of what that city is like.

Aside from performing, choreography has been a recent point of interest. I have choreographed shows for youth theatre and Summer camps, and recently assistant choreographed Deep Cove Stage Society’s Cinderella: The Magical Pantomime. I would love to expand my knowledge in regards to choreography!
